This policy explains the cookies and local storage Fuel Checker uses, and how to control them. We keep them to the minimum needed to run the service and understand how it is used.

What cookies are
Cookies and local storage are small pieces of data saved by your browser. We use them to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and consent choices, and measure usage.
Essential
Authentication cookies keep you signed in to your account, and a consent cookie remembers your cookie choices for 12 months. These are required for the site to work properly.
Preferences
We store your fuel grade, VAT (inclusive or exclusive) preference, map settings and any guest favourites in local storage in your browser so the app remembers how you like it. These never leave your device unless you create an account to sync them.
Analytics
We use OpenPanel product analytics, and - only if you choose "Accept all" on the cookie banner - Google Analytics, to count visits and understand feature use. Google Analytics sets its own cookies; if you choose "Essential only" it never loads.
Managing cookies
Use "Cookie preferences" in the footer to change your choice at any time, or clear cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out; declining analytics has no effect on the features you can use.
